As the World Turns made headlines a few weeks back with news that it planned to recast three roles in as many weeks. Now, one week into the new year, and the CBS soap is already writing out two of those roles. Actresses Sarah Glendening and Kelly Barrett will exit the show this week.

As the World Turns star Maura West is expecting, but fans shouldn't expect to see Carly get pregnant. A show source says that West's pregnancy will not be written in. West debuted as Carly in April 1995.
Cady McClain

Cady McClain is again returning to daytime television. She will not, as many viewers had speculated, be returning to All My Children. Instead, McClain will reprise another of her Emmy-winning roles: Rosanna Cabot on CBS's As the World Turns. The actress' most recent stint in Oakdale ended in January 2008.

Two-time Emmy nominee, Van Hansis, is seeking out work in primetime and feature films. While fans of the actor are excited about the actor's next big break, some are now fearful that Hansis may soon be on his way out of Oakdale. Hansis debuted as Luke in December 2005.

Robert Allen Willey, husband of As the World Turns star Helen Wagner, has passed away. Willey guest-starred in an episode of ATWT several years back. The pair had been married since 1954.

Long-time soap opera vet Judi Evans will join the cast of As the World Turns later this summer in a newly created role. Evans' appearance in Oakdale may disappoint Days of our Lives fans, who were hoping she'd be returning to Salem. Evans has also appeared on Another World and Guiding Light.
Stuart Damon

As the World Turns has signed its second former General Hospital in the past month. Emmy winner Stuart Damon will join the CBS soap later this summer in a still-to-be-announced role. Damon portrayed Alan Quartermaine on GH for more than 30 years.
David Kreizman

As the World Turns is making a readjustment to its writing staff. The CBS soap has hired Guiding Light writer David Kreizman. Kreizman will join Jean Passanante to form a new headwriting team. Kreizman won a Daytime Emmy for writing during his time with Guiding Light.

Though unconfirmed by the show, it appears that Austin Peck has been released from his role as As the World Turns' Brad Snyder. The actor joined the show in 2007 after a successful run on Days of our Lives.

Lesli Kay will bring Molly McKinnon back to Oakdale in the weeks ahead. The actress, who left As the World Turns five years ago, won an Outstanding Supporting Actress Emmy in 2001. Since leaving ATWT, Kay has appeared on General Hospital and The Bold and the Beautiful

Guiding Light star Tom Pelphrey will be joining the cast of As the World Turns later this year. The actor's Springfield alter ego won't be making the trip with him: Pelphrey will tackle a newly created role. Pelphrey is a two-time Daytime Emmy winner.
